Our numbers are such that EQ has today appointed us another teacher. She is Mrs Michelle McTaggart and she will start with us on Day 1 of school next year.
I've arranged for Mrs McTaggart to have an orientation morning here next Monday. We will form up her 2010 Year 6 Class so they can meet each other.

Congratulations to Ivory House, winners of the overall points at yesterday's swimming carnival. Well done to all our swimmers for a great effort and in particular to the Age Champions.

The 2010 Queensland state school calendar is now available at: www.education.qld.gov.au/projects/educationviews Parents and carers are reminded that all state schools will re-open for students on Wednesday 27 January, following the Australia Day public holiday on Tuesday 26 January. For student attendance, the 2010 term and holiday dates are:

•           Term 1 commences Wednesday 27 January and ends Thursday 1 April
•           Term 2 commences Tuesday 13 April and ends Friday 25 June
•           Term 3 commences Tuesday 13 July and ends Friday 17 September
•           Term 4 commences Monday 4 October and ends Friday 10 December*.
*Year 12 state school students will finish school on Friday 19 November, while Year 10 and 11 students complete their year on Friday 26 November. State school teachers will have professional development opportunities on the following student-free days: Friday 22 January, Monday 25 January, Monday 12 April, Monday 12 July and Monday 18 October.

A special Assembly was held last week to thank the Toowoomba Pipeline Alliance for fixing the drainage problem between our two ovals.

Birth date eligibility for enrolments in Prep Year and Year 1 in 2010
are as follows:-

• A child born 1 July 2003 to 30 June 2004 is eligible for enrolment in Year 1 in 2010.
• A child born 1 July 2004 to 30 June 2005 is eligible for enrolment Prep Year in 2010.
