​​​​​​​Esk State School acknowledges the Yuggera Nations and the Jinibara Nations, the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet and the school is situated.  We pay our respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, for they hold the memories, the traditions, the culture and hopes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

A better understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultures develops an enriched appreciation and understanding of Australia's cultural heritage and can lead to reconciliation. This is essential to the maturity of Australia as a Nation and fundamental to the development of an Australian identity.

Country schools are a viable choice when selecting where your child is to be 

Esk Sstate School signeducated. The difference is in the school size, culture and the climate - not the quality of teaching nor the opportunities on offer. 

Esk State School is interested in your story and collaboratively working beside you to bring out the best in your child and maximize their learning.

As the student numbers here at Esk are smaller than in larger city schools, the children get to know each other very well and will frequently grow up and learn beside the same kids, their friends, for many years. There is continuity in learning, as a teacher may well have the same students several years in a row, or at different stages in their development.

Our teachers, who live in the surrounding community, get to know students' learning styles, personalities and areas of need very well. It also means that our staff invest a lot of themselves in their work and take pride and care in what they do.
