Parental helpers
There are many ways for families to be active within the school.
Regular and reliable classroom help is deeply appreciated, then there is assistance in the library shelving and covering books, helping with lunch time activities, working in the gardens etc.
Parent involvement doesn't all have to happen through the P&C meetings. A little, or a lot – it all shares the burden, builds school pride and most importantly demonstrates to your child how much you value their education.
Parents are requested to contact their child's class teacher to negotiate suitable times. Please note that parent helpers are asked to sign in and out at the office, as this is a legislated requirement.
Other volunteers
Esk State School welcomes community volunteers, extended family members (eg. Grandparents) and adult learning placements.
Access to the school is negotiated through the Principal. All volunteers in this capacity will be required to undertake the mandatory training and be in possession of a current blue card. Blue Cards will need to be checked prior to each visit or linked to the school.
