Esk State School's student council is formed annually through an election process. Student Council Leaders are elected at the end of year 5, for the leadership positions for the following year. These students are part of the student leadership team.
Class based student council representatives are elected from year 3–5, and serve for the duration of the school year.
Student Councillors have the responsibility to meet regularly to organise events for the student body. While we do have some quite imaginative events, the student council regularly enjoys Discos, fancy dress and free dress days. Monies raised at these events are ploughed back into classroom or the school through the purchase of items of interest to the students e.g. Lego, puzzles etc.
Containers of change recycling scheme was embraced as a student council fundraiser in 2019. As well as providing the school and the community with a recycling service, it also serves to promote sustainability and environmental awareness.
